As the colder months draw in, you as a Landlord may be wondering what you can do to ensure your property remains in great condition.
The cold weather can cause costly problems with your property. As a landlord, keeping on top of the maintenance of your rental home may save you hundreds of pounds in the future.
We have four top tips to help you protect your home this winter.
1. Keep your property & tenants warm
Limit your expenses by bleeding radiators and fixing draughts in your property. Draughts can usually be found around windows and under doors.
2. Lag your pipes
Lagging pipes is cheap and can save the pipes around your property from becoming frosty, and in turn, bursting; causing costly damage!
3. External checks
Clean gutters, maintain gardens and check the roof for missing tiles! Bad weather and poor property conditions can lead to structural issues.
4. Gardening
Refresh your garden. Planting new plants, sweeping the leaves and trimming any overgrown hedges can make all the difference to an outdoor space!
